Jean Schmitt
Board Member
Jean Schmitt became a Board member of Myriad Group AG in 2002. He joined Sofinnova as Partner in December 2001 and was named Managing Partner in March 2005. He focuses on opportunities in the telecom sector.
Prior to joining Sofinnova Partners, Mr. Schmitt was the CEO and founder of several start-up companies, including SLP InfoWare until it was sold to Gemplus in 2000. He then served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SLP InfoWare and Vice President, Telecommunications Solutions and Applications at Gemplus until 2001.
Mr. Schmitt graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Telecom Paris) and holds a post-graduate degree in artificial intelligence from Telecom Paris. He serves on the Board of Directors of Upek, Inc., Blyk, Inside Contactless, Sagem Wireless, Accent and Sensitive Object.
