Simon Wilkinson
Chief Executive Officer
Simon Wilkinson is Chief Executive Officer of Myriad Group AG and is in charge of the overall strategy and development of the company.
Simon was previously CEO of Purple Labs SA and successfully drove that company’s acquisition of the Openwave Systems mobile software business and the Sagem Mobile applications business. He then led the acquisition of Purple Labs by Esmertec, creating Myriad.
Earlier in his career, Simon was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Magic4 Ltd, which became the global market leader in mobile messaging software before being sold to Openwave Systems for $83 million in August 2004.
While at Magic4, he raised venture funding of $21 million from 3i, Philips and Motorola, recruited and managed a senior team of industry professionals, and built the global organisation from zero to 150 people, with offices in the UK, USA, China, Hong Kong, France and India. Under his leadership, Magic4 produced strong consistent revenue growth of over 100% year on year, and achieved profitability and positive cash flow, on $23 million of annual revenue.
Simon was personally recognised as the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002.
