Head of Team - R&D - Chengdu, China
Myriad is looking for a Head of Team for the Chengdu office to manage our development team in Chengdu. Your mission will be to build and manage an effective and efficient development team to deliver browser and messaging projects.

MISSION
To build and manage an effective and efficient development team to deliver browser/messaging projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Management of a team of engineers and project managers.
- Quickly recruit engineers to be part of the team when necessary.
- Act as local line manager for the team, handling issues with HR, Finance and other areas of the organization.
- Manage resource planning, allocating people to projects, maximizing output an selecting the right skills for each project.
- Work with Core Development Director to plan the team budget.
- Assist deployment of processes and tools, and work consistently to improve the quality of products and process of the organization.
- Responsible for overall delivery of projects from the team so they are completed on time, on specification and on budget.
- Effective deployment of Scrum processes including where necessary:
- Ensuring the Management sprint planning and results tracking/reporting.
- Release plans to align major deliveries with Product Management.
- Run daily stand up meetings.
- Schedule & oversee design and/or code reviews as needed.
- Establish Sprint Themes with Product Management.
- Work with management to establish sprint metrics and collect/report results.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- 8+ years Experience as a project manager / team leader in a SW development environment.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in acting as Scrum master and Manager of Agile development teams.
- Experience in working on multi-site environments.
Desirable
- Experience in mobile telephony or mobile applications.
- Knowledge/experience PC or Mobile Browser technologies or Knowledge/experience of Social Networks / Messaging – mms / Sms / email / IM.
