Head of Core Engineering - Chengdu, China
Myriad is looking for a Head of Core Engineering for the Chengdu office to manage our engineering and development activities in Chengdu. Your mission will be to quickly build up teams, create a sustainable working environment and ensure quality and timely deliveries.

MISSION
Manage Core Engineering activities and teams in Chengdu. Build up quickly teams for the new areas of Core Engineering, i.e. Browsing, Messaging and Widgets. Create sustainable working environment for the members of development teams. Ensure deliveries in superior quality and according to schedule. Closely cooperate with European management team of Core Engineering.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Quickly recruit new teams and expand existing ones.
- Liaison with HR and heads of other Myriad teams in Chengdu to create sustainable working environment.
- Deliver on time with superior quality.
- Drive competence development within your organization.
- Create a clear site focus in cooperation with European management team.
- Establish budget annually for Chengdu Core Engineering and drive monthly forecast process.
- Participate in product roadmapping process.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 15 years experience of SW product development in different roles including R&D management and project management, in the area of embedded systems, preferably mobile devices.
- Proven track record of building up teams and delivering successfully.
- Excellent knowledge of SW development processes, tools and quality improvement frameworks.
- Preferably experience of Scrum based SW development.
- Excellent leadership, communication and facilitation skills.
- Experience in establishing budgets for SW development organizations.
- Preferably experience of working in multi-site environments.
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Strong commitment to reach agreed goals.
- Very good command of English.
