Principle Software Engineer - R&D - Chengdu, China
Myriad is looking for a Principle Software Engineer for the Chengdu office to work with our development team in Chengdu. Your mission will be to lead the design, development, and debugging of software for existing product enhancements and new products and software tools, in a multisite environment.

MISSION
Leads the Design, development, and debugging of software for existing product enhancements and new products and software tools, in a multisite environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Technical leader for team of developers, guiding technical solutions and solving technical problems.
- Working with system architects to define the architecture for new products and enhancements to existing products and components.
- Working under the direction of a team leader and in conjunction with project manager with a Program Manager and system architects, specify develop, test, integrate and maintain software products or software features.
- Conducts Requirements analysis and implementation estimations of components and features.
- Design and implement product solutions across multi-site teams.
- Delivery of product components on schedule and to agreed quality.
- Report to the team leader and project manager on progress and areas of technical expertise and project responsibility.
- Work on validation activities as required.
- Preparation & Review of relevant design / maintenance and user documentation.
- Work on integration activities as required.
- Continual Improvement of development processes and quality.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- 6+ years Experience in a relevant software development environment.
- Excellent debugging skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Experience in Multisite development environments.
- Thorough experience developing in a high level (object oriented) language (C/C++, Java).
- Additionally either Formal training or hands on experience in Embedded software development, Unix system-level programming, multi-threaded programming, relational databases (SQL), and web technologies (HTTP, HTML, JavaScript, etc.) required.
Desirable
- Experience in mobile telephony or mobile applications.
- Knowledge/experience in below areas:
- Social Networks / Messaging – mms / Sms / email / IM/
- Browser technologies either PC or mobile
- Runtime Engines technology – Virtual Machines, compilers, memory management, garbage collection, UI libraries etc.
- Experience in Windows mobile, Brew, Symbian.
- Design Tool – e,g. UML.
- Experience working Agile Scrum development teams.
