Principal / Senior Software Engineer, Runtimes - Zurich, Switzerland

Myriad is looking for a Principal / Senior Software Engineer for the Runtimes Core Development Team based in Zurich, Switzerland. Your mission will be to work under the guidance of Program Management to develop future Runtimes products. Our current Runtimes product portfolio includes Java VM (JBed) and solutions enhancing Android platform (Dalvik Turbo and J2Android).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include the following:

• To work under the guidance of Program Management to specify, design, test, and integrate software products
• To define the architecture for new product development
• To deliver product components on schedule and to agreed quality
• To work with the program managers and Validation team on defect prioritization and resolution
• To report to Program Manager on progress and areas of technical responsibility
• To prepare relevant design / maintenance and user documentation
• To work on test and validation activities as required
• To work on integration activities as required
• To assist continual improvement of development processes and tools
• Where applicable, act as a Technical Lead for a team of developers, guiding technical solutions and solving technical issues.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (PhD is a plus)
• Fluent English in oral and written
• 6+ years experience as software engineer, using embedded/mobile platforms – such as Brew, Windows Mobile, Android, Symbian or any other RTOS
• Thorough knowledge of C, C++, Java
• Extensive knowledge of Runtime Engines technology – Virtual Machines, compilers, memory management, garbage collection, UI libraries etc
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Good teamwork, communication and time management skills

• Experience in Scrum and Agile development teams
• Experience in working on multi-site environments
